The Pink Panther anmimation cell is an original cell from one of the legendary Pink Panther cartoons. This is a large and very funny image featuring everyone's favorite feline, The Pink Panther. Our pink friend appears to be quite content as he concentrates on the job at hand. All may look well now, but I am sure that some hearty laughs are just around the corner or maybe in the circus tent. After all, this is a cartoon you know. The legendary Friz Freleng, and his partner, David DePatie produced the Pink Panther cartoons. The set-up is presented on a color print background that nicely compliments the image.

For each movement in the action of a character in an animated cartoon, a cel painting must be made. Each cell is unique in that it represents a different stage of movement in the character's action. Cel paintings are created by Xeroxing or hand-tracing the animator's original drawing onto the top side of a sheet of cel material. The cell is then turned over and hand painted on the reverse side. All cel paintings are then photographed in succession over master backgrouds. This process creates the illusion of life when the images are projected onto a screen. Approximately 24 cels are required to create one second of animated action.

The matted cel is 10" x 9" that shows through the mat. It is double matted under glass and framed with a pink lacquer frame. The dimentions of the frame is 19" x 16". A Certificate of Authenticity, from The Celshop, Ltd, is included with this one-of-a-kind original, hand painted production cel of the Pink Panther.
