Harriet Hubbard Ayres was manufactured by Ideal in 1953 to promote the Harriet Hubbard Ayres cosmetic line. She was referred to as "the cosmetic doll". Little girls could learn the art of make-up and feel so grown up with this doll. Her face could be cleaned and made up again...time after time. She is the 20" size with a hard plastic Toni body, vinyl arms, and soft stuffed vinyl head made from Geon paste resin stuffed with cotton. She has blue sleep eyes with perfect lashes, beautiful facial coloring, and applied dark blonde wig still in the basic original set accented with a white bow. Her face looks untouched and has never had the makeup applied. Her face and body has no damage or repairs.

She comes dressed in her original gray ribbed cotton dress with attached panties trimmed in white ric rack topped with a green striped cotton pinafore apron. She has her original white rayon socks and vinyl side button shoes marked "Ideal". Her clothing is in wonderful condition with no rips, tears, stains, or repairs.
