Effanbee, The Dolls With The Golden Hearts was written by M. Kelly Ellenburg in 1973 and was published by Trojan Press in Kansas City. The book is out of print and is extremely rare. Very seldom is this book available for sale. It comes with the original dust jacket which is in good condition, but has some small tears. The book itself is in nearly mint condition with no writing, bent pages, or stains whatsoever.

Ms. Ellenburg presents her comprehensive report on a prolific manufacturer of quality dolls. Included are interviews with Bernard Lipfert and Dewees Cochran, both favorites of doll collectors every where. Hundreds of dolls are shown, identified, and dated.

A highlight of the book is a group of color photographs of twelve of the rare Historical Dolls series produced by Effanbee for traveling exhibits. Only three sets of thirty dolls each were produced. Each doll was beautifully costumed in real furs, silks, velvets, and brocades.

Ms. Ellenburg reeived the exclusive co-operation of the Effanbee firm in research and preparation of the very fine book. Old catalogs, photographs, and beautiful studio portraits of hundreds of collector dolls combine with original advertising to present a most comprehensive picture of the output of this doll manufacturer. Every doll collector, museum, dealer, and library will want to add this excellent book to their library.
