Laura, the Debutante was manufactured by The
Franklin Mint and is the first authorized Gibson Girl doll by Dana Gibson. She is the great-granddaughter of Charles Dana Gibson (creator
of the Gibson Girl).
Laura the Debutante is 21" tall with finely crafted bisque porcelain arms, legs, and head on a cloth body.
She has handpainted features and applied brunette wig styled in the typical Victorian hair do.
She comes dressed in her original clothes. She is bedecked in a ball gown fit for a princess. Flowing in lavish folds of satin,
the gown is richly embellished with organdy and lace, and complemented by hand-sewn satin rosettes. She carries an
elegant embellished fan in her hand.
She comes in her original box with hangtag and original paperwork. The paper inside the box is rather torn, but hasn't
affected the condition of the doll, which is wonderful. She originally retailed at $250.
