Smart Set was designed by Doug James and manufactured by Ashton-Drake Galleries for Mel Odom. It was first offered in 1998.

A figure-hugging suit dress circa 1948. It features a lined, sleeveless sheath dress of red wool crepe, accented with a patterned silk bow. The bolero jacket is lined in matching silk and accented with jet beads and a single-pleat back. Includes a black felt chapeau with a white felt feather, gloves, earrings, hose, and shoes. Of special note is the original painting by Mel Odom re-created as a miniature print for this costume. It comes in it's original packaging and has never been removed.
