Avant Garde, #76085, was designed by
Jose Ferrand and manufactured by Ashton-Drake Galleries for Mel Odom. It was made for the Gene doll, but also fits other
similar sized dolls such as Tyler Wentworth, Sydney, etc.
Unique "floating sleeves" make a stylish cocktail dress totally Avant Garde, circa 1956. The carnation pink
sleeveless dress features a fitted bodice, decorated with four black buttons. Deeply darted, the bodice tapers
sharply to the waist, where the skirt blossoms from beneath. The skirt's fullness is supported by petticoats of
shocking pink tulle. Matching armbands that "float" above the elbows serve as sleeves, giving the entire ensemble
a futuristic look, a popular theme in the '50s. Accessories include a cap-style hat with a black bow trim, black
bead earrings and necklace, black lace gloves, and black heels. Outfit is NRFB and
comes with story card, certificate, and all in the original box.
