The EFFanBEE Historical Dolls, the Romance of American Fashions, was a set of exhibition dolls with thirty dolls to a set produced in 1939. The display collection featured elegant gowns of silk, velvet, and brocade that were historically accurate in every way. The dolls were 20" tall with handpainted eyes and human hair wigs, by Meyer Jacoby, styled in the fashion of the period that the doll represented.

The exhibition dolls toured the country in leading department stores to aquaint the public with the development of American Fashion and to promote the replica dolls EFFanBEE offered for sale. The 14" replica dolls dressed in cotton copies of the exhibition gowns sold for $5.00. The exhibition dolls were sold to private collectors in 1941.

1896 - Unity of Nations Established , is from the first set of exhibition dolls, manufactured by Effanbee and first introduced in 1939. She is 20" tall and is a strung doll made of composition. She has painted brown eyes, vibrant facial features, and has a human hair wig still in the original perfect factory style. On her wrist, she wears her original EFFanBEE heart bracelet. She is in flawless condition with no crazing, marks, or repairs. Her stringing is a little loose, but she still holds a pose perfectly. I wanted to keep her in as original condition as possible.

She comes dressed in her original peach colored heavy ribbed silk suit trimmed with white braid, creamy silk and lace jabot, slip, bloomers, socks, and tie shoes. The doll and the outfit are factory fresh with no damage.
