Harriet Hubbard Ayres was manufactured by Ideal in 1953 to promote the Harriet Hubbard Ayres cosmetic line. She was referred to as "the cosmetic doll". Little girls could learn the art of make-up and feel so grown up with this doll. Her face could be cleaned and made up again...time after time. She is part of the Toni family. She is 14" tall with a hard plastic Toni body marked "IDEAL DOLL/P-90", vinyl arms with long polished fingernails, and soft stuffed vinyl head made from Geon paste resin stuffed with cotton. She has blue sleep eyes with perfect lashes, and applied dark blonde wig with some of the original curl still intact. She does have a mark under her chin which I have not tried to remove and will leave that up to the new owner.

She comes dressed in an authentic Toni fashion which consists of a lime green cotton dress (elastic needs tightening on the sleeves) with attached panties trimmed in white ric rack. The dress has an attached organdy pinafore-style apron with pink flocked dots accented with the signature pink swirl Ideal buttons, then is trimmed in white lace. On her feet are white socks and centersnap shoes which look like they've been polished with white shoe polish. The dress is in fabulous condition with no rips, tears, stains, or repairs.

Also included is the original makeup that came with the doll. Cleanser, face powder, eye shadow, lipstick, eyebrow pencil, rouge, and perfume stick. Most of the makeup hasn't been used.
