The cuddly little mouse with a big heart (a.k.a. "The Little Italian Mouse") was the creation of the troupe of puppeteers that debuted on CBS's THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW on April 14, 1963. Each week, as part of the show, the adorable little mouse would appear on stage and greet the stone-faced Mr. Sullivan with a sugary "Hello, Eddie!" Topo, who often spoke of his girlfriend, Rosey, closed his weekly visits by saying "Keesa me goo'night, Eddie."

Topo Gigio Graduation Bank was manufactured by Royalty Industries, Inc. of Miami, Florida and first offered in 1970. He is 10" tall and made of vinyl. He has painted features, beautiful facial paint, and has his signature very large ears. He is marked on the back of his head and on his right foot "©Roy Des of FLA 1970". He also has his original sticker on his right foot. He is a bank and has a slit in his back to insert coins and bills.

He comes in his original clothes which consists of a black felt graduation gown, white felt collar, and burgundy ribbon around his neck. On his head he wears a black graduation cap with tassel and in his hand, his diploma. His clothing is in wonderful condition with no rips, tears, stains, or repairs.
