From Gone With The Wind of 1939. Ashley Wilkes is the most complex character in Gone With the Wind. He is always torn between Melanie and Scarlet and is ever the gentleman. He is true to Melanie and true to the Cause, remaining faithful husband, and serving gallantly as an officer in the Confederate Army.

Ashley Wilkes was manufactured by The Franklin Mint and first offered in 1988. This doll is carefully sculpted to accurately and realistically depict Leslie Howard, the actor, who portrayed Ashley in the film. His head, arms, and legs are fine porcelain on a cloth body and painted shoes and he is 21" tall. He has handpainted molded features and molded painted hair. He is in wonderful condition with no rubs, damage, or repaints.

The hand-fitted gray wool tunic is trimmed with gold grading showing Ashley's position as an officer and has matching gray wool pants. His tunic has gold buttons, gold embroidered sleeves, and he even wears the yellow sash just like the one Scarlet made for him. Underneath his tunic he wears a white long sleeved shirt with a black ribbon tie around his neck. Around his waist is an an authentic reproduction belt buckle bearing the intials "CSA" for the Confederate States of America. On his head he wears his matching gray felt hat with gold braid headband.

He is in wonderful condition, being previously displayed, with no rips, tears, stains, or repairs and would make a nice addition to any collection. He comes with his original box, stand, hangtag, and certificate of authenticity.
